# Privacy

Blakeist is a static personal site. There are no accounts, no comments, no checkout, and no login. You can read essays and download tools without creating a profile.

**What we collect.** The hosted site may load PostHog analytics when a public project key is configured. PostHog records standard web analytics (pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser metadata, and similar events on tool pages such as download clicks). Person profiles are not created for anonymous readers. If analytics is not configured, those scripts do not load.

**What we do not do.** Blakeist does not sell personal information, does not run advertising pixels for third-party ad networks, and does not require cookies to read the writing. Tool downloads are served as files; they do not create an account. There is no mailing-list signup on this site.

**Markdown and agents.** Requests for `text/markdown` are content negotiation on public pages. They are not a tracking API. Server logs from the host (Vercel / Cloudflare) may include IP address and user agent for security and reliability, as with any public website.

**Requests.** To ask what data we hold or to object to analytics, email [hello@blake.ist](mailto:hello@blake.ist) with the subject line “Privacy”. We will respond as the operator of Blakeist, not as a data broker. See also [Contact](/contact) and [About](/about).
