# Blakedown help

The current download contains Apple Silicon code. A universal update is in preparation. The existing app is notarized, but its package needs a metadata repair to pass the new strict verification standard.

## Install

Download the DMG, open it, and copy Blakedown to Applications. The current download requires macOS 15 or newer and Apple Silicon.

## Get started

Open a Markdown file to read it. Changes saved by your editor reload in place. Use Command-F to find text and Command-D for a second pane.

## Permissions and privacy

Blakedown reads the files you open and their local changes. It requires no account. Its update checker contacts the download service.

## Recovery and uninstall

Quit and reopen the app if a document stops refreshing; your source file remains in its original location.

To uninstall, quit Blakedown and move it from Applications to the Trash. Keep your documents.

Current download: 1.0.3. The next package adds Intel code and a clean staging and verification process.
