Porthole help
1.0 · build 1 · Package inspected 2026-09-05
The current download is signed and notarized and contains Apple Silicon and Intel code. Automatic updating is being added; use this page to get the current public version.
Install
Open the downloaded DMG and copy Porthole to Applications. The current package declares macOS 13 or newer and includes Apple Silicon and Intel code.
Get started
Open Porthole from the menu bar to see local listeners. Choose a process to open its page, reveal its folder, or stop it.
Stopping a server ends that process. Restart it through the project or application that originally launched it.
Permissions and privacy
Porthole inspects local listening ports and process information. It requires no account. The next version includes an update checker that contacts the download service.
Recovery and uninstall
Refresh the list or quit and reopen if it looks out of date. A permission failure does not mean a process was stopped.
Quit and delete Porthole to uninstall. Your projects and servers are separate from the app.
Release information and changes
Current download: 1.0 build 1. The next candidate adds a bundled icon, an integrated update checker, help, and the shared release checks.
